Wow, there is so much going on in technology today. I feel like I am in a hurricane and the new trends are moving past me at that speed. How can anyone possibly keep up with what is current and going on in the educational world today?
The Florida Virtual Conference last week was totally awesome! Great speakers and I got to stay home to attend. Technology is just great.
This blog will hold my random thoughts about technology in the classroom. It is sometimes overwhelming and at the same time exciting to see what is out there. Come along for the ride.

Mobile Technology
Where is it all going with mobile technology? How long before our schools will have no personal devices connected to anything permanently? The mobility is a wonderful convenience but when does it become a nuisance to have technology with you at all times? Do we really WANT to be connected anywhere, any time?

SEMVA
SEMVA is finally off the ground--so to speak. Plans are in the works for classes this fall. Excitement is building among the students and teachers are being trained and getting excited about the world of the cyberclassroom. Wow--what a change in education is ahead of us. Do we change just to be changing? I think not. We change to make the education for our students better, deeper, richer, and more personal. Online learning can do all this but needs the right teachers in the classroom. Are you one of those teachers?

Online Learning
Getting people excited about online learning is great. It is so convenient for so many students and fits the learning styles of students when sometimes the face to face does not. Being on the teacher end is exciting as well to see students work come in and be happy for them.

Connected or not--that is the question
Why does our society feel the need for constant connection with peers and "friends." Do we have to be connected 24/7? What happened to getting away from it ALL? Connection is a convenience but when does it become an intrusion?

A Ph.D. Really?
I am sort of amazed that I am on the verge of starting a Ph.D. Wow--what an exciting time for me. I can't wait to get started and see how this works.
